Brightness is an important specification to consider when picking your projector. How much brightness you can see depends on two factors - how much light can be produced by your projector, and how reflective the screen you're projecting onto is. The most common measurement of brightness in home theatre systems is Lumens, which can also be written as ANSI lumens. The Optoma DW318 has a brightness of 2500 lumens. For more help on Lumens, and how much brightness you need, check out Projector Central's guide here.
