There's nothing better than enjoying a film on your home cinema system. And if you're a fan of the movies then you'll want to make sure you buy a television and blu-ray player that supports 24p True Cinema. (Sometimes called 24p Real Cinema). The DMP-BD60 is capable of 24p playback. This means that the blu-ray player shows each frame of the film at a the exact rate it was filmed at. You may not have noticed in the past but older TVs weren't capable of this and had to subtly adjust the speed of the movie to match the TV. 24p shows films exactly at the same rate you'd get in a movie theatre. The reason this matters is that the movie will play much smoother with 24p.

BD-Live
BD-Live works with Blu-ray players and the Internet to bring you extra content related to the disc you've bought or rented. So what kinds of things can you get with BD-live?
Up-to-date information about the movie or actors
Online interactivity
Ringtone / wallpaper downloads
Live events
Sound track information
Exclusive bonus content
Games
Picture in picture content that plays along side the movie
Chatting with other people while watching the movie
... other cool stuff that will be released in the future
Who is BD-Live important to? Well if you've always enjoyed watching the extra features found on DVD movies (and later on Blu-ray movies) then you'll likely get a kick out of BD live. To get it, you'll need a Blu-ray player, such as the DMP-BD60 that's BD Live compatible. (Most are these days) and a broadband internet connection. To get the best out of BD-Live, you'll need to update your player with the latest firmware. This can be done at the manufacurer's website. There's a really good page from the Sony website here showing some examples of what BD-Live can do.
