The 22PFL3404 has 1 x HDMI inputs. HDMI stands for High-Definition Multimedia Interface and is a standard used for audio / visual equipment. Like the older scart, HDMI is a port that allows you to connect things like Blu-ray players and games consoles to your television. Unlike scart, they're very easy to plug in - and take up a fraction of the space scart leads do. HDMI allows for HD devices to send high resolution information to the television. HDMI is an uncompressed digital signal, as opposed to previous analog interfaces such as S-Video, component video and composite video. The 22PFL3404 has an HD-Ready resolution of 1366 pixels x 768 pixels. This is a measurement of how many horizontal and vertical lines the TV is capable of displaying. This resolution is also known as 720p. This resolution is most common on TV sizes up to around 32". This resolution is a widescreen resolution of 4:3 and is capable of showing incredible levels of HD detail. (Providing the source of the video is in HD - such as a Blu-ray movie).
